Plastic abdomen
surgery / Abdomen tightening
Plastic abdomen surgery may take
place as follows:
- After a pregnancy or great weight loss, the
extended and stretched skin is not capable to
withdraw to its original state, remains dangled
and sagging. Spontaneous improvement might be
possible within a year after giving birth or
loosing weight, however only an operation can
correct this condition.
- The skin firmness by ageing is reduced, which
can also be treated by plastic abdomen surgery.
- The easing of the abdominal wall is often
responsible for the slipping away of the abdominal
wall muscle fibres. It can occur as well, that
the fat deposition under the skin leads to the
expansion of the skin.
The essence of the operation:
taking out the excess skin under the
navel and eliminate the surplus fat, than tightening
the abdomen skin. If it is necessary, the abdominal
wall muscles can be restored. In the case of a
serious overweight, it is recommended to diet
before the abdomen tightening so that the success
and the safety of the operation can be enhanced.
Rarely, the fat layer is thinned with liposuction
during the operation.
The plastic abdominal surgery
is executed in general anaesthesia, preceded by
laboratory analysis (blood, urine) and ECG examination.
During the operation an incision is performed
down between the two hip - thorn. The abdominal
covered skin - fat lobe is lifted up to the height
of the rib – arc, after a circum cutting the navel.
Than the lobe is stretched and the surplus part
is isolated and the navel repositioned.
Around the navel only light
scars remain visible, while down between the two
hip - thorn a longer scar, however a bikini can
cover the latter. During the operation the surgeon
leads thin plastic tubes out of the wounded area
to drain the surplus tissue fluid, which is taken
away on the 3rd or 4th day following the operation.
There is a 1 - 3 day resting needed in the clinic,
than 2 - 3 weeks at home. (The first 7 - 10 days
in bed!)
During this time the patient
should return for a control and a change of the
bandage in 3 - 4 occasions. The removing of the
stitches takes place between the 2nd and 3rd week.
The bandage is very tight for 5 –6 days following
the operation, than the patient receives a compression
trouser, which has to be worn for several weeks.
Following the stitch removal, from the third -
fourth week administrative or light physical work
can be done. Driving a car on the 4th, taking
a shower from the 6th day can commence. Following
the stitch removal for a further 1 - 3 months
it is not suggested to do intensive physical work,
sports, gymnastic, dancing and aerobic. Thereafter
all earlier practiced activities can be continued.
